Washington kicker makes 67-yard field goal

On October 18, Austin Rehkow of Spokane (Washington) Central Valley High School kicked a state-record 67-yard field goal as time expired in regulation in its 62-55 overtime win over Spokane (Washington) Shadle Park High School. Rehkow’s kick broke the previous Washington record of 62 yards, which was set by Kelly Imhoff of Kent High School in 1929.

According to the National Federation of State High School Associations’ online multimedia National High School Sports Record Book, Rehkow’s field goal ranks second all time behind the national-record 68-yard field goal kicked by Dirk Borgognone of Reno (Nevada) High School in 1985.
