Now available on the NFHS Web site, www.nfhs.org, and for NFHS Officials Association members on the NFHS Central Hub Web site, www.nfhs.arbitersports.com, in conjunction with the 2010-11 Water Polo Rules Revisions, are a number of auxiliary materials. The 2010-11 Water Polo Case Book highlights situations one might encounter involving the new rules changes ranging from the proper procedure when dealing with an athlete displaying signs of a concussion to protocol when dealing with time-outs. The Points of Emphasis will help coaches and referees bring about consistency in the application of the rules of the game, and also provide referees with guidelines to apply in a variety of different situations. Those working the water polo desk are important in the progress and flow of the game. The NFHS has developed a supplementary list of directions for those supervising and running the water polo desk, including the scorekeeper, exclusion secretary, game timer and shot clock timer. The Water Polo Scoresheet and Exclusion Form have also been updated and posted on the Web sites. The NFHS would like to extend a special thanks to Barbara Kalbus for her efforts in the assistance with preparation of these materials.
